Region 3

Professional Development

(R3P)

Greater Lawrence HUB

GLCAC Inc is the Lead Agency for R3P

Overview

The Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) had funded six regional ‘Educator and Provider Support’ grants for professional development and North Shore Community College is leading the initiative for the fifty cities and towns in Region 3. Since the region is so large, we have developed “hubs” in the three major cities (Lynn, Lowell and Lawrence) and I am the Greater Lawrence Hub Coordinator. As coordinator my role is to link early educators and out of school time staff to educational opportunities in the Northeast Region, and to provide programs/providers with supports for NAEYC, NAFCC, CDA, and QRIS. I would like to use this opportunity to share a few updates of what is happening in our area

Professional Qualifications Registry (PQR)

EEC has developed an online ‘Professional Qualifications Registry’ (PDQ) for all educators in the ECE/OST workforce and is requiring that all educators (teaching staff, administrators, FCC providers, out of school time staff, etc.) register. In addition, you must be registered in the PQR to participate in any upcoming professional development offered thought EEC grants. If you haven’t already registered, please do so ASAP! If you need assistance with this process please contact me at 978-681-4996 and I can try to helping you with the process. Print off the ‘summary sheet’ and keep your individual PQR registry number available as you will need this number in order to register for upcoming trainings and classes.

College Courses

The R3P includes five regional colleges as collaborating partners that have received funding through this grant to offer college courses, advising and support to eligible participants for free or at a significantly reduced cost. Each college provides different courses and services, so it is important to know which program and location best meets your needs and goals
